Andrzej Gębski


He have finished Violin Studies at F. Chopin Academy of Music in a class of professor Mirosław Ławrynowicz making his diploma with a perfect result. The artist has accomplished his skills at the master courses under the direction of W. Marschner and K. Levin.

He is the laureate of IV Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition in Łódź, II Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition of Chamber Contemporary Music and XI P. Lantier Inernational Music Interpretation Competition in Paris. He is playing with Warsaw Chamber Orchestra as a soloist and took part in numerous concerts in country and abroad. Since 1997 he is a violinist of Camerata Vistula. While performing with Camerata Vistula as a soloist or chamber musician he took part in many music festivals e.g.: XIV Warsaw Music Meetings, Music Festiwal in Hinterzarten, International E.S.T.A. Congress in Budapest, F. Chopin Festival.

As a soloist he cooperated with many worldwide renowned orchestras. From 1993 to 2001 he made previews and archive recordings for Polish Radio and Television of Romuald Twardowski and Benedykt Konowalski violin compositions. CD´s with Andrzej Gębski music have received enthusiastic reviews of professional music press and a CD with sextet was called a CD of the month in "Music21" magazine and a nomination to "Fryderyki" 2001 award.

Since 1998 he deals with a didactic activity as a lecturer in Academy of Music in Warsaw and he leads violin class in Z. Brzewski High School in Warsaw, where he also conducts string orchestra of this school.
