Nicki Kennedy

Read Spanish at Bristol University, gaining a First Class Honours Degree, and continued her studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and London's Royal College of Music.

She has appeared as soloist at the festivals of Ambronay, Boston Early Music, Halle, Pontoise, Potsdam, Prague, Santiago, Sylvanes and Utrecht, the Guido Cantelli Festival, the Three Choirs Festival and the London Handel Festival, working with orchestras such as the Academy of Ancient Music, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Die Kölner Akademie, the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, Le Parlement de Musique and the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Operatic engagements have included Cena Furiosa at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and at La Monnaie, Oriana Amadigi and Philidel King Arthur for Der Lautten Compagney, Berlin, the title role in Semele for Opera Parnassus, Amore L'Incoronazione di Poppea at the Megaron, Athens and Amore / Valletto L'Incoronazione di Poppea with the Purcell Quartet.

At the Barga Festival, she has sung Barzane Arsilda, Regina di Ponto, Vagaus Juditha Triumphans, Angelica Orlando Furioso and Lucio Tito Manlio.

Nicki Kennedy has broadcast for BBC Radio, France Musique, RAI 3 and WDR and her recordings include Iphigénie en Tauride with Les Musiciens du Louvre, Handel Utrecht Te Deum with the Netherlands Bach Society, Meder St Matthew Passion and Mattheson Der Liebreiche und Geduldige David with Die Kölner Akademie and Rodrigo Himnos de los neofitos de Qumran with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. With Modo Antiquo, she has recorded Arsilda, Regina di Ponto, Juditha Triumphans, Orlando Furioso, Tito Manlio and two volumes of Vivaldi Cantatas.

Most recently released are English Cantatas by Handel with the Brook Street Band and Die Liebreiche und Geduldige David by Mattheson with Die Kölner Akademie.
