Studied flute at he Prague Conservatoire and conducting at the Academy of Music in Prague, with the renowned profesor Václav Neumann. He started his career in the National Theatre in Prague as an assistant of Zdeněk Košler. In 1991 he was invited by Herbert von Karajan Foundation to cooperate with George Solti, Claudio Abbado and the Vienna Philharmonic at "Sommerspiele Salzburg". Since 2000 he has been main conductor of excellent Czech and Slovak orchestras: Prague Chamber Opera, Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, Brno Philharmonic, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, from 2003 to 2005 he served as an Artistic Director and a Principal Conductor of the Prague State Opera and from 1997 to 2009 as a Principal Conductor of the Chamber Philharmonic Pardubice. He has also became a Conductor of the Ballet of the Prague National Theatre and since 2001 he collaborates with the Czech Philharmonic. Since 2007 he has become a Permanent Guest Conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. Leoš Svárovský cooperated also with many excellent orchestras: Orchestre National de LorraineMetz, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Bach Collegium Munich, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Residentie Orkest den Haag, RTL Symphony Orchestra Luxembourg, Bruckner Orchester Linz, Orquestar Metropolitana de Lisboa, Radio Symphonie Orkest Utrecht, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Presidential Symphony Orchestra Ankara, Staatskapelle Dresden and others. Leoš Svárovský is regularly invited to perform at many important music festival in the Czech Republic, as well as abroad (Festspiele Europäische Wochen Passau, George Enescu Festival Bucharest, Colorado Music Festival, Settimane Musical di Ascona and many others). He also cooperated with many important soloists, including R. Firkušný, J. Suk, V Hudeček, I. Ardašev, P. Šporcl, V. Pikajzen, D. Geringas, A. Noras, M. Fedotov, C. Ortiz, D. Várjon, H. Hardenberger, D. Damrau, I. Oistrach, S.Vladar, M.Gauci, K.Ricciarelli, K.Rydl, S.Larin, N.Martinucci, E.Randová, D.Pecková, L.Orgonášová, Sumi Jo, Ch.Margiono, R.Buchbinder, S.Kovatschewitch, A.Kontarski, L.Josephowitsch, X. de Maestre and many others.

Most recordings by Leoš Svárovský were carried out by Supraphon but he also cooperated with other significant recording companies, such as Newport Classic, New Millenium Records BBC a ULTRAPHON Arco Diva. Both of his recordings of premiered unknown works by Janáček for Supraphon (CDs Janáček Unknown I and II) and his recording of Janáček´s Glagolitic Mass, Dvořák´s Stabat Mater and Massenet´s Mary Magdalene received a critical acclaim.
