Luiza Sobkowiak born on September 14, 1989 in Koszalin (Poland).
She started playing the piano at the age of four. At the age of seven she was a student of the Music School in Koszalin where she graduated in 2008 with full marks under the guidance of Mgr. Katarzyna Szymczewska.
She was winner of many national and international piano competitions, including:
- II prize at the International Piano Competition in Lonigo (Vicenza) in Italy April, 2003,
- special distinction at the Fourth National Piano Competition in Krakow September, 2004
- III prize at the International Piano Competition in Vienna September, 2005
- I prize at the International Piano Competition in Vienna September, 2005
- II prize at the International Piano Competition "Louise Henriette" in Berlin Oranienburg, April, 2006
- II prize at the International Piano Competition "R. Shchedrin" in Moscow
In 2006 she became the laureate at the 69th Steinway International Piano Competition in Hamburg and received an annual scholarship.
In 2007 she received a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
In 2008 she entered the "Stanislaw Moniuszko" Music Academy in Gdansk where is currently student of prof. Waldemar Wojtal.
